Dear Walmart Customer Service,
I am writing to formally report a very disappointing and unacceptable experience I had last night at your Coquitlam location.
I urgently needed to purchase a breast pump. I first visited your Grandview location, where I was informed the item was out of stock. I then checked availability and was directed to the Coquitlam store, where the product was listed as available.
Upon arrival, I located the item, but it was locked inside a cabinet in the baby/health section. I asked for assistance, and while the staff attempted to help, they were unable to locate the key. I waited patiently for over 45 minutes while the issue remained unresolved. During that time, I politely requested that a manager or assistant store manager be called to assist.
When the duty manager eventually arrived, a middle-aged male wearing a badge indicating approximately 25 years of customer service experience, the interaction was extremely unprofessional. His conduct did not reflect that level of experience. There was no greeting, no acknowledgment of the long wait, and no attempt to apologize or assist in a meaningful way.
He was accompanied by another associate, an older female staff member who appeared to be working alongside him. Both of them spoke among themselves and largely ignored me, despite my attempts to communicate and offer a potential solution. I specifically mentioned that a younger female associate from the cosmetics section had successfully opened a nearby cabinet using her key and suggested they ask her to try the lower cabinet as well, but this suggestion was disregarded.
After waiting over 45 minutes, another female associate—who had initially been assisting with the cabinet—said to me, 'Why are you so set on buying this item? We cannot find the key.' I found this comment completely inappropriate and dismissive. I should not have to justify why I need to purchase a product, especially one as essential as a breast pump for a mother with a newborn.
I was also told that the store is undergoing renovations, which is why the key could not be found. With all due respect, operational issues such as renovations should not prevent staff from accessing and selling items that are listed as in stock. If the store cannot function properly under these conditions, that is a serious operational failure.
What made this experience worse was the complete lack of accountability, empathy, or basic customer service from most of the staff involved, as no one acknowledged the inconvenience or frustration caused. The only positive part of this experience was a young male associate of Persian background at the customer service counter, who was polite, respectful, and genuinely tried to assist.
I am not interested in receiving a generic apology. What I expect is that this complaint is taken seriously and that concrete action is taken, including proper staff training on basic customer service and communication, stronger management accountability and responsiveness, ensuring that secured merchandise is actually accessible to customers, and maintaining store operations during renovations without compromising service.
No customer—especially someone dealing with an urgent need—should have to go through what I experienced.
I trust this matter will be reviewed seriously and addressed appropriately.

Hi there, at 7:30 today I went to Walmart Supercentre in Vaughan to buy a 4 pack of Barebells Creamy Crisp protein bars. However, when I got home and opened the box, I only had 3 bars in it.
Considering each bar is roughly $4, it feels like I should seek compensation or a replacement for the missing bar. I know it's just $4, but it's still quite expensive.

Don’t go to Walmart
I purchased a LED light on June 23rd from the Walmart location at 1706 Preston Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4Y1.Just two days after purchase, the button on the bottom of the lamp became stuck and would not come back out, making the lamp completely unusable.
As I am only available on Sundays, I returned to the store on June 29th to request a refund or exchange. However, the customer service staff refused to help me, stating that I could not return the product without the original packaging. I tried to explain that the product was clearly defective, and that I had only had it for two days. Unfortunately, the staff ignored my explanation, repeated the same line about packaging, and showed no willingness to listen or help.
I find this policy and the staffs behavior both unacceptable and unreasonable. It is unrealistic to expect customers to retain packaging for small household items, especially when the issue is due to a product defect, not a change of mind. What upset me even more was the attitude of the staff I was spoken to in a commanding tone (listen) and felt disrespected throughout the entire interaction.
In the end, I was not offered a refund or even a replacement. Instead, I was told to purchase a new item essentially paying again for a product that was already faulty due to no fault of my own.
I am deeply disappointed in this experience, and I believe Walmart needs to review both the customer service training at this location and the rigid return process in cases of product quality issues.I receive a refund or be compensated for the defective product. I respectfully hpoe that I receive a refund.The receipt is attached and video showing how the light is broken is also attached.

It kept changing and nobody knew what to do. Then I had taken too long and would have to start all over again.
